e-AWB

What is e-Air Waybill (e-AWB)?

e-Air Waybill (e-AWB) is the electronic form of paper air waybill that is used as the contract of carriage for international airfreight shipments.

How does the e-AWB work?
Click here to find out more about the standard operating procedures of e-AWB.

What are the requirements to implement e-AWB?
Forwarders must have the technical capability to send out FWB (e-AWB) messages and process the following messages:
 o FSU/FOH ( Freight-on-Hand message)
 o FSU/RCS ( Freight Acceptance message)
 o FMA (Acknowledgement)
 o FNA (Reject)

Forwarders should be able to produce high-quality electronic messages.

IATA multilateral e-AWB agreement should be signed and sent to IATA. Alternatively, the airline’s e-AWB bilateral agreement could be used to commence e-AWB.

Inform partners (airlines and ground handlers) of the ability to produce e-AWB for each station.
